3 potential upsets in the fourth round of the FA Cup this weekend

A long-shot perhaps, but Wolves will be delighted that they are playing Liverpool now and not at any other time of the season.

Jurgen Klopp’s men suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Southampton in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final on Wednesday to exit the competition, and when you factor in that they’ve won just one of seven matches in 2017, they are really struggling at present.

Their only victory of the New Year was an unconvincing 1-0 success away at Plymouth in a third round replay, and they’ve not managed to win any of their last three games at Anfield, with Argyle forcing a replay, Swansea taking all three points in the Premier League, and Southampton knocking them out of the League cup.

Thus, with Klopp expected to make changes ahead of a crunch match with Chelsea on Tuesday, Paul Lambert’s Wolves will fancy their chances of a major upset.

They were unbeaten in 2017 until a 3-1 defeat at Norwich last weekend, yet Lambert knows that his side can mix it with Premier League opposition, given that they knocked Stoke out in round three.

Anfield could be the place to witness a cupset this weekend.
