Chelsea loanee Isaiah Brown made his debut during the match – an impressive one too.

Brown was celebrating his twentieth birthday on Saturday afternoon, and the home crowd at the John Smith’s Stadium joined the party.

The debutant was heavily involved in Payne’s first goal and within the first 35 minutes, Town fans already had a song for their new signing.

Manager Wagner praised Brown for his debut and said, “In my opinion he made a great debut and it was a great day for him.

“It was his birthday and he gave us a good debut on it.”

The Town manager explained how Brown had to prepare in such a short space of time, after only joining Huddersfield on Friday.

Wagner added, “We gave him a crash course in the last 36 hours about our identity and what he has to do against the ball and with the ball. I think he did very well.”

Izzy has already impressed both fans and staff at the club. If he can continue to perform at this standard, he may be able to help guide Town towards a guaranteed play-off spot come May.
