5 things we learned from Rotherham United v Fulham

Rotherham eyeing permanent Morris move?

Fulham’s Kevin McDonald battles Rotherham’s Carlton Morris (Left).

The Millers’ on loan striker Carlton Morris made his first start for the club on Saturday.

The 21-year-old, who is currently on loan from Norwich City, was making his second Rotherham appearance against Fulham following his arrival in January.

Morris played the first 62 minutes of the match, before being replaced by Jamie Yates. Morris looked very energetic and promising during his time on the pitch. Manager Warne praised Morris’ performance after the game.

“I was pretty happy with him,” Warne said.

“He has not had much match practice and he has only really had training with us. He had 20 minutes against Queens Park Rangers where I thought he looked good.”

The interim boss feels that he would be able to develop Morris even more if he was to be signed permanently in the summer.

“If he was my project in the summer, I think I could make him a wealthy man,” he added.

“He holds the ball up well and you can see that he understands the game. I think he is the sort of player that we want.”
