Arsenal are on the verge of signing Ituano FC talent Gabriel Martinelli, according to the Hartlepool Mail.
The 17-year-old is a highly-rated striker has impressed for the Fourth Division Brazilian outfit – where ex-Middlesbrough midfielder Juninho Paulista is club president – this term.
In fact, Boro, along with Leeds United were reportedly keen on signing the teenager, who has also spent time with both Manchester United and Barcelona.

But the South American starlet now looks set for a switch to the Emirates after a fee of £7million was agreed between the two clubs.
The process of purchasing Martinelli will be made easier for the Gunners as he holds an Italian passport.
Eight Brazilians have represented Arsenal’s first-team throughout their history and fans will be hoping Martinelli can develop into another.
