Arsenal have made a £5million bid for Ituano FC striker Gabriel Martinelli, according to Fox Sports Brasil.

The highly-rated 17-year-old has impressed for the Brazilian Fourth Division outfit, scoring 10 times as the Sao Paulo club finished runners-up in the Paulista Championship.

This has reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal and a host of other clubs in both Europe and South America.

And with Palmeiras, Corinthians and Flamengo all linked with the talented teenager, the Gunners are trying to secure a deal by making a firm offer.

Martinelli is no stranger to England having spent time on trial with Manchester United two years ago, where he appeared for the Red Devils’ Under-18s in a 2-0 win over Lincoln City.

The Brazilian also had a trial with Barcelona and, it’s claimed, the La Liga champions are still monitoring the player.
