Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe wanted by RB Leipzig on a permanent deal

Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe will be the subject of a summer bid from RB Leipzig, according to reports.

The highly-rated 18-year-old moved to the German club on loan in January following impressive Europa League showings for the Gunners.

And despite having only made just one substitute appearance due to a groin injury, Calciomercato report that the Bundesliga outfit are keen to secure a permanent transfer.

The England Under-19 international is the third British player to represent Leipzig over the past couple of seasons with Ademola Lookman and Oliver Burke having played for the club following a loan and permanent move respectively.

Arsenal view Smith Rowe as a potential first-team player over the next couple years, so it is unlikely they’d be welling to sell.

Added to that the loss of Aaron Ramsey to Juventus this summer and boss Unai Emery will be looking to keep hold of the other attacking midfielders he has on the book.

Smith Rowe, who is on a long-term deal at the Emirates, impressed his Spanish manager in his six appearances this term, in which he scored three goals for the North London club.
