Fowler’s most prolific season at Liverpool came in the 1995/96 campaign, in which time he netted 36 goals in 53 games for Evans’ men.

28 of those strikes came in the Premiership as the Reds secured a third place finish, and he also scored six goals in seven FA Cup games, although couldn’t prevent the Merseyside club losing 1-0 to rivals Manchester United in the final.

Here, the forward can be seen netting in their 4-3 victory over Newcastle United on April 3 1996, a game widely regarded as the best the Premier League has even seen.
