There were still a few question marks surrounding Conte and Chelsea when champions Leicester visited them back in October, but they soon banished any concerns with a faultless display.

The Blues had just beaten Hull 2-0 in their first game playing with a back three, and their first home match using that system saw them sweep aside Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Diego Costa and Eden Hazard both netted in the first half for the hosts, before the reborn Victor Moses sealed the victory ten minutes from time.

It was an utterly dominant performance from Conte’s men, and a clear message to their title rivals about their credentials ahead of the season.
