EFL: Championship, League One, League Two Players and Managers of Midweek – Big wins for Norwich, Burton and Exeter

League One

Player: Josh Magennis (Hull City)

Hull have made a flying start to the season as they look to bounce back to the Championship at the first time of asking. On Tuesday, the Tigers secured an impressive 3-0 win at fellow promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town. Striker Josh Magennis was a handful for the Tractor Boys’ defence all night and made some key contributions. After heading the ball away from under his own crossbar, the Northern Ireland international converted his side’s second goal in the second half.

Manager: Jake Buxton (Burton Albion)

Having just won once all season prior to Tuesday, the last team Burton would’ve wanted to face was a Charlton Athletic side unbeaten in seven. However, the form book was turned on its head as Jake Buxton oversaw a huge 4-2 win for his side. Not only was it the Brewers first victory since September, it also took them off the bottom of the table and into 22nd.
