FC Barcelona are trying to land Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno, according to Spanish outlet Sport

The 26-year-old has made just four appearances in all competitions this season, with Andrew Robertson firmly established as Jurgen Klopp’s number one left-back.

And with his contract expiring in the summer, the Spaniard is weighing up his next move away from Anfield after five years on Merseyside.

Recent reports suggested that the former Sevilla man was to join Serie A side Lazio in the summer but now it’s claimed that Barcelona are keen to bring him in as a back-up to Jordi Alba.

Robertson is Liverpool’s undisputed first-choice left-back.

Moreno was a regular in the Liverpool side but a string of errors and inconsistent performances – most notably in the 2016 Europa League final – saw him lose his place to Robertson a few months into the 2017/18 season.

Klopp has handed the four-time Spain international just 155 minutes of Premier League football this term and his last appearance in all competitions came in the FA Cup defeat to Wolves in January.
