Another player of whom many questions were asked, but Dejan Lovren is beginning to answer some of those with decent displays at the back for Liverpool.

The Croatian international joined the Reds for £20 million after an excellent season at Southampton, but was found wanting too regularly last season.

However, he has improved this time around and although he is still prone to the odd error, as shown at Palace the other week, he seems to be developing an important partnership with Matip at the back.

Nevertheless, the question still remains about whether this Liverpool centre-back pairing can keep a clean sheet when the forwards aren’t firing.
