Man United could lure these 2 Arsenal players to Old Trafford in January

It’s unlikely that any Arsenal first-teamers would swap the Emirates for Old Trafford, given where the two respective clubs are at this stage of the season.

Arsenal are second and United are eighth, and Wenger’s side have already qualified for the knock-out stages of the Champions League, while the Red Devils aren’t even in the competition.

Thus, United may have to turn their attentions to those on the fringes of the first team, which means that they could have a look at Kieran Gibbs.

With Eric Bailly’s long-term injury likely to force Daley Blind into centre-half for the next few months, Mourinho may have to utilise Luke Shaw at left-back and, based on what we’ve seen so far, it’s not clear whether Mourinho rates the England international or not.

He criticised him for an error he made at Watford last month, although Shaw was injured at the time, and the 21-year-old has been in and out of the team since his return from a spell on the sidelines.

Consequently, the left-back area could be one that needs strengthening, and Gibbs would provide a steady option and decent competition for that spot.
