Manchester United are considering bringing Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi to the club as part of a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.

Belgium international Lukaku has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, with Inter keen on the 26-year-old.

And with the Italian club keen to offload Icardi, 26, the Express report that they are set to offer the Argentinian as bait.

The Red Devils are thought to be slightly concerned by the South American’s fiery temperament which has seen his relationship with both fans and the hierarchy at the San Siro breakdown.

Romelu Lukaku has been tipped to leave Old Trafford this summer.

However, it’s thought the 13-time Premier League winners would seriously consider taking the man who’s scored 124 times in 219 matches for Inter as they would need a replacement centre-forward.

Lukaku started well at United following a £75million move from Everton in 2017 but started just 22 Premier League matches in a 2018/19 season which saw him not always first-choice.

The ex-Chelsea forward has previously expressed a desire to play in Italy and, with Icardi reportedly not in new boss Antonio Conte’s plans for next term, a trade deal may suit both clubs.
