Manchester United will be in Italy to watch highly-rated Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella this weekend, according to reports.

Barella is expected to move on from his current club this summer after a host of eye-catching displays.

Now Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira is reporting that the Red Devils are sending a representative to watch the 22-year-old in action against Napoli on Sunday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is aiming to rebuild his underperforming squad for next season as he looks to put the Red Devils back in serious contention for major honours.

Barella has been one of the standout players in Serie A this season.
