Manchester United’s dream spine come February

Isco’s future at Real Madrid is still yet to be resolved, yet you sense that it could be come February 1.

The 24-year-old has found it hard to nail down a place in Zinedine Zidane’s starting eleven this season, and has actually seen his game time at the club reduce in the last 18 months or so, going from making 53 appearances in the 2014/15 campaign, to 43 last season, and only 20 so far this term.

Clearly, the midfielder is struggling to make a difference for the Spanish giants, so a move away could be in the offing for the talented Spaniard.

And United could be the ideal destination for the playmaker.

He has been linked with a move to Old Trafford at times this season and, based on Michael Carrick’s age and Wayne Rooney’s diminishing impact on the first team, Mourinho could see him as the perfect candidate to full the hole in the United midfield.

Isco can also play further forward if needed, so he would provide Mourinho with several options in the midfield area should they clinch a deal this month.
