Premier League Team of the Week: Matchweek 6

WB: Jacob Murphy (Newcastle United)

In his first Premier League start start since December 2018, Jacob Murphy showed Steve Bruce that he deserved his chance in the Newcastle side. Playing in an unfamiliar right wing-back role, he was the Magpies’ biggest attacking threat and scored a clever free-kick to equalise for a 1-1 draw at Wolves late on.

WB: Arthur Masuaku (West Ham United)

Was one of the Hammers’ standout players in a standout first 45 minutes. Had the pace to keep Kyle Walker in check but also offered a lot going forward. Got back in to make a great clearance which denied Riyad Mahrez almost a certain goal in the second half as the Hammers secured a point.

MF: Declan Rice

The 21-year-old has really become the heartbeat of the West Ham side this season and continued his impressive form against Man City. Rice produced almost a perfect midfield performance against Pep Guardiola’s superstars as he had a 100% completion rate when it came to passes, tackles, and takes-ons. Seems to be growing in confidence all the time.

MF: James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)

The Saints skipper ran the game from midfield. Notched his first goal of the season with a rocket of a strike to put his side ahead and rarely gave the ball away. The 25-year-old seems to be getting more consistent and confident with age.
