As prolific goal-scorers go, Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is up there.

The Gabon international scored 39 goals in just 49 games for the German side last season, and has backed up his sensational form this time around, netting 14 goals in 14 appearances, including four in their 5-2 thumping of Hamburg before the international break.

Aubameyang has scored 94 goals in just 156 games for Dortmund since moving there in 2013, and he’s unsurprisingly attracting interest from across Europe.

You can never have enough firepower in the Premier League, and Guardiola will be well aware of that given his side struggled to break newly-promoted Middlesbrough down a fortnight ago.

It would be a signing that would make the rest of the top-flight set up and take note, and it could be a signing that inspires City to the title.
