Spurs’, or specifically Pochettino’s, history of giving young talent a chance could be a serious factor in whether they move for Danish international Kasper Dolberg over the coming weeks.

The 19-year-old, who made his senior Denmark debut in November 2016, has scored 11 goals in just 27 games for Dutch giants Ajax this year, his first full season at the club.

Eight of those have been in the Eredivisie, where Ajax currently sit second in the table, and as a result the young forward is attracting interest throughout Europe.

The likes of Manchester City and Chelsea have been linked with the in-form starlet, yet Pochettino’s management of Dele Alli, Eric Dier, and Christian Eriksen could persuade Dolberg to move to Spurs given their success.

Pochettino has given them all a real chance in the first team, and it is now paying dividends for the Spurs boss – the same could happen with Dolberg, who would not only provide an able back-up to Harry Kane, but would actually compete with the England international for the main striker’s role at White Hart Lane.
