The England international joined Arsenal from Southampton in January 2006 for an original fee of £5m, that eventually rose to £12m.

Walcott was only 16-years-old when he signed the former Premier League winners, but his age did not stop Wenger paying a hefty fee for the then teenager.

The forward earnt his first call up to the national side in that summer after being selected for Sven Goran Eriksson’s 2006 World Cup squad. He made his international debut in a World Cup warm up friendly against Hungary in May 2006, but he did not feature at the tournament in Germany.

Walcott has made over 350 appearances in his time with the Gunners so far, scoring 96 times in those matches.

Despite stints in and out of the first-team in the past 11 years, Walcott is now very much a first-team regular at the Emirates Stadium and is highly regarded as one of the best value for money transfers Wenger has ever made.
