Adebayor arrived at Highbury in January 2006 after leaving Monaco for a fee of £8.5m.

The Togolese striker went on to score 62 goals in 142 appearances for the Gunners before leaving in July 2009. On departure from North London, the forward joined Manchester City for a fee of just over £21m.

During his time under Wenger, Adebayor was named BBC African Footballer of the Year in 2007, African Player of the Year in 2008 and he also earned a place in the 2007-08 PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

His stunning volley against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in September 2007 was perhaps his best goal in an Arsenal shirt. In fact, it was good enough to win BBC Goal of the Season for the 2007-08 campaign.

The experienced striker is currently a free agent after being released by Crystal Palace last summer.
