This is the Arsenal XI that can catch Premier League leaders Chelsea

Danny Welbeck

A bold choice this one, but Danny Welbeck’s recent return from injury could see Alex Iwobi drop to the bench.

Iwobi has netted just three times and laid on three further assists in 21 Premier League appearances this term, so he’s hardly pulling trees down with his recent form.

He did net in their 2-1 defeat to Watford a few weeks ago, but has since put in below-par displays against Chelsea and Hull, so his position could be under threat from a returning Welbeck.

The England international missed nine months of football due to an injury he picked up against Manchester City last May, but netted twice on his first start of the season in the FA Cup win over Southampton a few weeks back.

His pace and directness, as well as his strength off the ball and in the defensive areas, may be more beneficial to Wenger over the coming months, and could be what Arsenal need to close the gap on Chelsea.
