Olivier Giroud may have done well in recent times, yet when Alexis Sanchez is up top, Arsenal look a much better side.

The Chilean is the Premier League’s top-scorer this term having netted 17 goals in just 25 league appearances, 13 of which have come from him playing in the more advanced position.

But it’s not just his goals that makes him a better bet than Giroud, it’s his all round play and ability to get the best out of others which is hugely beneficial to Wenger, as the likes of Ozil, Walcott and Iwobi have been better this term, chiefly as a result of Sanchez upfront.

The 28-year-old has also laid on 11 assists in all competitions this term so demonstrate his absolute significance to Arsenal, so it’s clear that his form between now and May will go some way to determining whether they catch Chelsea.
