This is what Arsenal’s fearsome front three could look like come the end of January

Arguably the best bit of business Arsenal could do this month is tie Alexis Sanchez down to a new and improved deal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Chilean international has been absolutely magnificent this season in a more advanced role, netting 14 goals and laying on seven assists in the Premier League for the Gunners.

That means that he himself has contributed to 21 of Arsenal’s 48 league goals this season, which is a massive chunk of creativity that could elude Wenger’s men if they can’t agree a new contract with the 28-year-old.

There have been signs that Sanchez isn’t overly happy at Arsenal, just look at his reaction to being substituted against Swansea and indeed in the aftermath of the draw at Bournemouth, and thus speculation has been building about his future.

Nonetheless, Arsenal quite simply have to make sure he is still at the club come February 1 – he is too important a player to let go mid-season.
