Arguably the most influential player on this list, N’Golo Kante was first signed by Claudio Ranieri for a reported £5.6m from French minnows SM Caen in the summer of 2015.

Slotting seamlessly besides Danny Drinkwater, the Frenchman helped the Foxes to power to an astounding Premier League title.

Known for his enthusiastic style of play, the midfielder became famous for his trademark tackles and interceptions. Affectionately labelled ‘the rash’, Kante was a dominant force against most sides in the English top-flight and was placed in the PFA Team of the Year.

Making 40 appearances in all competitions and scoring a solitary goal, he earned the reputation as one of the best midfielders in Europe and earnt a spot in the France squad for Euro 2016.

As a result, his stay in the East Midlands was going to be a short one. Lodging a £32m bid, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea snapped up the diminutive Kante, breaking a Leicester City record in the process.

The Parisian now looks set to secure a second consecutive Premier League title at Stamford Bridge this season.
