Top 5: Most disappointing players of 2016-17 Premier League season

Moussa Sissoko

After Newcastle United were relegated to the Championship at the end of last season, Moussa Sissoko showed no desire of keeping his wishes to leave the club secret.

Whilst this angered The Magpies, the 27-year-old flourished at the European Championships with France and attracted interest from Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

However, due to Newcastle’s huge asking price, it was Everton and Tottenham who embarked upon a deadline day scramble for the midfielder, with Spurs ending up forking out £30m for the player.

Since arriving at White Hart Lane, Sissoko has failed to nail down a starting position and has just two assists in six Premier League starts.

The midfielder has also been used sparingly in the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup and has massively underwhelmed so far this season.

In total, the French international has made 28 appearances this season in all competitions, but has been invisible for large parts.

Despite only just moving to the London outfit, Sissoko is already being linked with a summer move to AC Milan as boss Mauricio Pochettino looks to have made his mind up on the central midfielder.
