With over a third of the season now played, many surprising stories have emerged that were predicted by very few, if any, leading to the creation of an enthralling campaign once again.

Here are Shoot’s Top 5 2015/16 Premier League stories so far.…

5. Özil finds his range

After joining for a club-record fee of £42.5 million in the summer of 2013, fans and pundits alike have been particularly critical of the German World Cup winner.

Despite that, in his two years at the club, Özil made 16 goals and found the net nine times, but that hasn’t been enough for many who believed those stats are not a fair return for the outlay paid.

Ozil is enjoying his most productive season yet

Yet, this season, he is beginning to meet the demands placed on him as he has 11 assists and has made 56 chances from just 13 Premier League games, including at least one in a record seven consecutive matches.

Cesc Fàbregas’ total of 10, achieved at this stage last season, is currently being eclipsed by Özil, while the 27-year-old has also weighed in with two goals, including a strike away at Norwich City last weekend.
