Top 5: Premier League deals to be done before Deadline Day

Dimitri Payet

West Ham United superstar Dimitri Payet finds himself in somewhat of a situation as we enter the final week of this year’s January transfer window.

The 29-year-old created a legendary reputation for himself at West Ham in the 18 months after joining from Marseille, scoring 18 times in 66 appearances, as well as assisting on 25 occasions.

However the French playmaker, who is currently the highest paid player at the club, now looks set to leave after telling manager Slaven Bilic that he no longer wants to play for the club as a result of a family crisis – and has been training with the Under-23’s ever since.

Rejoining Marseille is his most likely option, but they will have to submit a vastly improved bid to make The Hammers stand up and listen.

They have already rejected three bids from Marseille for the midfielder and there is still a potential scenario of Payet having to remain at the London Stadium until the end of the season as the London side continue to hold out for a £30m fee.
