Top 5: Things to look out for before the end of the 2016-17 Premier League season

Fight for 17th place

Swansea City manager Paul Clement.

With relegation looking extremely likely for Middlesbrough and increasingly certain for Sunderland, this will leave one relegation spot remaining and it will now probably be a direct battle between Marco Silva’s Hull City and Paul Clement’s Swansea City.

The likes of AFC Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and West Ham United should have all done enough now to be safe, with the only team who could potentially be drawn in to this fight is Sean Dyche’s Burnley.

Both Hull and Swansea have played 34 games and find themselves on 33 and 31 points respectively.

Whilst Hull seem to be in slightly better form, both clubs won their previous games and Clement would edge Silva out on experience in high-pressure games after competing at some of the biggest clubs alongside Carlo Ancelotti.

This battle will be so interesting and it could come down to the final day of the season with Swansea facing Manchester United, an in-form Everton team, Sunderland and West Brom, whilst Hull must still play Southampton, Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Tottenham – it is really is almost too close to call!
