Top 5: Things to look out for before the end of the 2016-17 Premier League season

The title race in full swing

Chelsea defeated Tottenham in last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final.

A few weeks ago, the title was pretty much done and dusted – Antonio Conte had seemingly won the title at the first time of asking and the inconsistent nature of the big teams at the top had let them down once again.

However, just a few games later and we now have a fairly serious title race on our hands. Chelsea haven’t been poor in this recent spell, it is just that Tottenham have been better.

They have gone unbeaten in their last eight games, whilst Chelsea have suffered defeats to Crystal Palace and Manchester United in this same period.

There are now only four points separating the two, with both sides having five games left to play. Assuming that Mauricio Pochettino’s men win all of their remaining fixtures, the title race could go right down to the penultimate game of the season.

Chelsea will still be favourites for the top spot, but if they were to blow the title now, it certainly would be one of the biggest title collapses in recent footballing history.
