Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Southend United starlet Charlie Kelman, according to Football Insider

After impressing for the Shrimpers’ youth set-up, the 17-year-old has broken into the first-team this season, scoring once in six appearances.

Kelman hit the back of the net 61 goals for the under-16s last season and struck 18 times in 21 outings this term before his call-up to the seniors.

West Ham United were reportedly favourites to snap up the highly-rated youngster but now it’s claimed Spurs are also keen.

Southend will be keen to keep hold of the talented teenager but London’s Premier League duo could make them an offer too hard to refuse.

Kelman scored from the halfway line on his Southend debut against Plymouth Argyle in January which saw him awarded the League One Goal of the Month.

The Basildon-born forward, who signed his first professional contract at Roots Hall following that match, is a United States Under-18 international after spending much of his youth in Texas.
