Tottenham Hotspur are exploring the possibility of re-signing Gareth Bale from Real Madrid, according to reports.

The 30-year-old left Spurs for the Bernabeu for a then world-record £85million in the summer of 2013.

However, the Wales superstar now seems surplus to requirements in Spain as boss Zinedine Zidane looks to give his squad a makeover following a disappointing season.

And, Spanish publication Marca report that the North London club are interested in taking back the forward to the place where he scored 55 times in 203 matches.

Real Madrid boss Zidane looks prepared to move Gareth Bale on this summer.

Bale’s contract could prove a stumbling block though, with the forward’s current £600,000-a-week deal still having three years left to run.

However, despite Tottenham being unable to meet those current wage demands, it’s thought they are willing to pay a £54million transfer fee.

And with Los Blancos keen to generate some funds after having spent £250million already this window, they may see it as good business to supplement the former Southampton starlet’s wages in order to get him out of the club.

Bale has scored 102 times in 231 matches for Real and has won the Champions League four times.
