Tottenham Hotspur look set to beat Arsenal to the signing of Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba, according to reports.
It was thought that the Gunners were closing in on the capture of the highly-rated 18-year-old.
However, respected journalist, Mohamed Bouhafsi tweeted that North London rivals Spurs have made a late bid to capture the Frenchman.

The Gunners were offering £27million after bonuses but it’s claimed Tottenham have trumped that by offering the same amount up front.
Additionally, it’s thought they are also prepared to pay the centre-back a higher salary than what he would receive at the Emirates.
The Ligue 1 side are considering Spurs’ bid and it’s reported that they will make a decision within the next 24 hours.
