Tottenham must snap up these 2 La Liga stars in January

Samu Castillejo

Strength in depth in the forward areas is what Tottenham need if they want to sustain a title challenge.

With the likes of Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, and Erik Lamela all first teamers, it’s difficult to see who might deputise in their absence should one get injured, suspended, or badly out of form.

Thus, Pochettino should have a look at Villarreal’s Samu Castillejo, someone Spurs were reportedly keeping an eye on prior to the summer transfer window in 2015.

The attacking midfielder went on to move to Villarreal from La Liga rivals Malaga in the subsequent window, and has shown glimpses of his undoubted potential since moving there 15 months ago.

Castillejo has added more creativity to his game this season, with four assists already and more key passes than any other Villarreal player, so he’s clearly developing into the midfielder many suspected he would be.

It may cost a fair bit to entice him away from Spain, but Pochettino should certainly look at the youngster as a way of strengthening his attacking options.
