Spurs knew that they needed to beat Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United to remain seven points behind leaders Leicester but, for 70 minutes, it didn’t look like they were going to get the victory.

However, three goals in six minutes from Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld, and Erik Lamela blew away the Red Devils, who up until that point looked content with taking a draw back to Old Trafford.

It was also their first win over United at White Hart Lane for 15 years, and kept them in with a chance of securing their first league title in 55 years.

However, they ran out of steam and a 2-2 draw at Chelsea meant that Claudio Ranieri’s Foxes completed the unthinkable, and won the Premier League title.
