Yesterday’s comeback win for Everton over Arsenal was a massive victory for the club after a tricky few months.

Koeman’s men had won just one in ten prior to Tuesday’s game, but battled brilliantly to come from behind and defeat Wenger’s side.

In what was an excellent team effort in the second half, it was the performance of James McCarthy which was particularly impressive, given that he struggled to break into the side when Koeman first arrived at Goodison Park.

Nonetheless, alongside the excellent Idrissa Gueye, the Republic of Ireland international was outstanding for the Toffees, and will be a key player for them in the near future.
