Off the back of beating Manchester 4-2 and looking like last season’s Leicester, confidence must have been high in the Foxes camp going to the South Coast last night.

But their uninspiring performance suggested otherwise.

Their 1-0 defeat at the Vitality Stadium was their seventh away loss of the season, and their eighth overall in the Premier League.

And, for the champions, that is simply not good enough.

Manager Claudio Ranieri said afterwards that the result was ‘too severe’ on his side, but in truth the Foxes only really got going when it was too late, and didn’t do enough to warrant a point.

The Italian must sort out their away form quickly if they are to start climbing the table.
