Arsenal agree deal for Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba

Saint-Etienne starlet William Saliba is set to undergo a medical at Arsenal, according to reports.

The 18-year-old is one of the most highly-rated defenders in Europe after impressing in 19 appearances for the Ligue 1 side last term.

Now, following intense speculation, football.london report that the Gunners have reached an agreement with the French side over the signing of the centre-back.

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is bolster his squad.

Unai Emery is looking to bring in a number of signings this summer after narrowly missing out on qualifying for this upcoming campaign’s Champions League.

But despite claims that the North London side will pay £27million for Saliba, it’s expected he will immediately head back to Saint-Etienne on a season-long loan.

Tottenham Hotspur were also interested in the France Under-20 international but Arsenal have won the race for his signature.
