Arsenal are close to signing Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to reports in Spain.

The 22-year-old is expected to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer after making just 16 starts in all competitions last term.

And Mundo Deportivo report that the Gunners are close to striking an agreement with Los Blancos to bring the Spain international to the Emirates.

Ceballos doesn’t seem to be in Zinedine Zidane’s plans for the 2019/20 season.

It’s claimed the deal with see Ceballos, who helped his country win the Under-21 Euros last month, move to North London on a season-long loan deal with no option to purchase at the end of the campaign.

With Arsenal boss Unai Emery is looking for quality reinforcements and Zinedine Zidane aiming to offload some squad members after spending £250million this summer, the transfer – if completed – seems one which would suit all parties.

Ceballos signed for Real from Real Betis for around £16million in the summer of 2017 and he has since made 56 appearances in all competitions.
