Manchester United are planning a summer swoop for West Ham United’s Declan Rice, according to the Irish Independent.

Rice has had a real breakthrough season with the Hammers, establishing himself as Manuel Pellegrini’s first-choice defensive midfielder.

The 20-year-old’s performances resulted in him earning his first two England caps in March after switching his international allegiance from the Republic of Ireland in February.

Now it’s reported that the Londoner, who’s valued at £50million, is on the radar of Manchester United.

Rice recently won his first two England caps.

Midfielders Juan Mata and Ander Herrera could be set to leave Old Trafford in the summer so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for reinforcements in that area.

Pellegrini recently stated that West Ham could lose Rice if a “big team pay an important amount of money”.

And with his salary at £30,000-per-week, the Red Devils will be able to offer the man who’s played 65 times for the Hammers a significant increase.
