Manchester United head the queue to sign Leicester City playmaker James Maddison, according to reports.

The 22-year-old performed magnificently in his debut Premier League season following a £20million switch from Norwich City last summer.

This has seen the attacking midfielder linked with a move away from the King Power with the Independent reporting that the Red Devils lead the race.

Maddison registered seven goals and seven assists this season.

United are aiming to revitalise their squad ahead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first full season in charge after missing out on a top-four finish.

And it’s claimed the Old Trafford outfit have made Maddison a priority target as they would like to have more British players in the squad.

However, they may not be alone in their pursuit of the set-piece specialist with Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur also linked with the player valued at £60million by the Foxes.

Maddison is currently away with the England Under-21s preparing for the European Championship, which starts in Italy on June 16.
