Real Madrid are preparing to make a £70million bid for Chelsea star Eden Hazard, according to The Sun.

The Spanish giants have been linked with a move for the Belgian, whose contract expires in June 2020, over the past couple of transfer windows.

And now it’s reported that they will show their intent to bring the 28-year-old to the Bernabeu this summer by lodging an opening offer.

It’s expected that the Blues, who are not allowed to sign players until the summer of 2020 due to a FIFA ban, will reject the offer as they desperately try and keep hold of their biggest asset.

Los Blancos are looking to reinvent their squad following a disappointing campaign in both European and domestic competitions.

Hazard has scored 105 goals in 338 matches for Chelsea.

The club reappointed Zinedine Zidane as boss earlier this week and they are now planning to bring in reinforcements in order to compete with Barcelona once again.

Following the £45million signing of Eder Militao from FC Porto – which was announced on Thursday – the French chief now hopes Chelsea’s talisman can follow the Brazilian to Spain next season.

Hazard moved to Stamford Bridge from Lille in 2012 for around £32million and he has helped the club win five trophies, including two Premier League titles.
