Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a double-raid for Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez and Lazio defender Luiz Felipe, according to reports.

Spurs have failed to sign any players in the previous two transfer windows but after moving into their new stadium and advancing to the last four of the Champions League they are expected to recruit this summer.

Gomez was linked with a move to West Ham United in January having impressed for the Serie A strugglers by netting 11 times this term.

However, with Vigo in a relegation battle, the Mirror are reporting that the Uruguay international’s release clause would drop from £42million to £22million if his current club fall through the trap door.

Gomez could be available for nearly half the price if Celta Vigo are relegated.

Mauricio Pochettino is keen on adding to his forward line to have more back-up available to Harry Kane.

At the back, Felipe is said to be another player the Argentine boss is taking a keen interest in.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has made 22 appearances in all competitions this term and is rated at the £20million mark.

It’s claimed that he could be a potential replacement for Toby Alderweireld who despite having his contract extended to 2020 has a release clause of just £26million.
